How we do it — our concreting process

A shed or house slab has to be square, level and built to the engineering, because every job that follows depends on it. With a 25-year specialty in large shed floors, our process is built around getting slabs dead level and dead right the first time.

  1. Plans, measure and quote. Send us the shed or house plan and we will quote to the exact dimensions, set-downs and footing details required.
  2. Site cut and base. We level and compact the pad — and where the ground needs more work, our earthmoving service handles the cut and fill so it is all one crew.
  3. Set-out and formwork. We set the slab out square and to the right finished floor level, allowing for thickenings, rebates and edge beams.
  4. Plumbing and services. We coordinate plumbing and service set-downs and penetrations before the pour so nothing has to be cut later.
  5. Steel, pour and finish. Engineered reinforcement and thickenings are placed, then the slab is poured and finished flat to the tolerance the build needs.
  6. Cure. We cure the slab so it reaches full strength and is ready for the builder.

Workmanship and standards

Level is non-negotiable on a slab — a few millimetres out can mean problems for the whole build above it, so we set out carefully and check as we go. We build to your engineer's details, getting the steel, thickenings and edge beams right for the soil class and the loads. On reactive sites we pay extra attention to the design that controls ground movement, and on rural and machinery slabs we add the thickness and reinforcement needed to carry serious weight.

Getting the foundations right

Most slab problems trace back to the ground beneath, not the concrete on top. Fill that has not been compacted properly will settle, and a slab poured straight onto soft or uneven ground will crack and dish no matter how good the mix is. That is why we take the base seriously: stripping organic material, bringing the pad up in compacted layers, and making sure it is firm and true before a single form goes down. For sites that need shaping, doing the earthworks and the slab with one crew means the base is prepared exactly the way the pour needs it — no gaps in responsibility.

What we pour and options

We pour slabs for kit and custom sheds, garages, carports, granny flats and full house slabs, from a small garden shed up to large machinery and commercial sheds. We also pour rural and farm slabs built for heavy-duty use. Finishes can be steel-trowelled smooth for a workshop or garage, or left with more texture where grip matters.

Why choose us for your slab

Large shed floors are a genuine specialty of ours, and the same care scales down to a single garage or garden-shed slab. Send us your plan and we will quote it accurately, advise on thickness and steel, and pour it dead level and on time. For realistic pricing, see our shed slab cost guide, then ask us for a fixed quote against your plan.
