How we do it — our concreting process

A good path looks simple, but staying flat, crack-free and safe underfoot for years comes down to preparation and detail. Our process for footpaths, perimeters and crossovers is the same disciplined approach we bring to every pour.

1. Measure and quote. We assess the route, levels, width and any access or drainage issues, then provide a fixed written price.
2. Excavation and base. We dig to depth, set the falls away from buildings and compact a solid base so the path will not sink or rock.
3. Formwork. We form clean, accurate edges and curves, matching levels to existing paths, steps and thresholds.
4. Reinforcement and jointing. We reinforce where needed and plan control joints at the right spacing to keep the path crack-controlled.
5. Pour, finish and cure. We place and finish to a slip-resistant broom or aggregate surface, then cure it properly.

Workmanship and standards

The two things that ruin a path are water and movement. We design the falls so water sheds off the surface and away from the house, and we control cracking with a compacted base, appropriate reinforcement and properly spaced joints. For access paths and ramps we keep grades safe and even, and for perimeter strips we focus on keeping moisture, mud and weeds away from the building.
